How pure is the sample?

Separated peaks reveal components in a chromatogram.

A purity figure describes the result under the method used. It establishes neither the amount present nor sterility.

How much is present?

The measured amount is compared with the declared amount.

Quantification requires suitable calibration. High purity does not automatically mean the declared amount is present. For blends, total amount and component ratio are separate questions.

Does the identity match?

Mass signals are compared with the expected compound.

LC-MS provides molecular-mass evidence. Further structural or sequence confirmation may require additional analyses. We record only explicitly documented findings.

Are bacterial endotoxins detectable?

Endotoxins are components of certain bacteria. They can remain after the bacteria die. A separate test checks the sample for them.

The diagram illustrates a quantitative colour assay: standards with known amounts help interpret the sample signal. Without a test, this question remains open. A low endotoxin value does not establish sterility. Consult the original report for units and detection limits.

Does one lab report cover every batch?

A report documents the tested sample. Product, amount and batch number must match the record. A result cannot be extended to other batches or the entire range. The shop rating counts one report per product; this does not automatically verify the remaining stock.

Does a missing entry mean a measured value of zero?

No. “Not recorded” or “not measured” remains unknown. The methodology awards no points for it, but we do not fill in a measured value of zero. If the entire shop lacks a calculable basis, no rating is shown. An actual displayed score of 0 points is distinct from that; documented warnings remain visible.

Why can a rating fall over time?

Each counted report earns 10 freshness points up to and including 90 days, 6 points up to 180 days, then 3. The mean of these values determines the shop’s freshness points. Reports older than 365 days no longer count. The next recalculation can therefore lower a rating without new measurements. Without an eligible report, a regular rating cannot be calculated; documented warnings remain separately identified.
